Promoting social inclusion,

starting with the right to food.

Start again from the basics, from the right to food. Are you familiar with the food assistance programme we are running with the Costa Crociere Foundation? It envisages the supply of raw materials for the production of hot meals to the needy in the communities reached in the main ports of disembarkation by cooperating with institutions, associations and third sector entities. Through access to cheaper prices from Costa suppliers, we multiply the value of each of our investments and the donations we receive.

A food sustainability project in cooperation with the Italian non-profit organisation Banco Alimentare is also active on board our ships.

We distribute in Italian and international ports the meals prepared on board and not served to those most in need. Thanks to this commitment both on land and on board, in 2022 we donated more than 1,100,000 meals to people and families in need in 22 different destinations. Support this and many other projects with a donation to the Costa Crociere Foundation, with the guarantee that 100% of every donation will be invested in projects.

Separate waste collection is at 100%

On board we collect and sort 100% of our waste, and are very proud of it! And the customised stickers on the baskets in the cabins are a way for us to tell you that we're on it! Perhaps not everyone knows that on board our ships there is a recycling centre, the place where waste is separated according to type of material.

Metals and plastics, paper and cardboard are compacted, glass is shredded, and there are special machines for special materials, such as cans or cooking oil. Recyclable waste is then disembarked in port on the ground and entrusted to specialised recovery companies. Some numbers? Over 500 tonnes of aluminium recovered...if you consider that 1 tonne is equivalent to 100 bicycles then we can say we are on the right track. it can’t get more circular than that!
